I'm Brittany — a mom of four, photographer for 17+ years, and someone who's been exactly where you are. I do what I do because I know how fast these days slip by, and I want to make sure you remember every beautiful, chaotic, fleeting moment.
Hi there!
April 22, 2026

You know that rare moment when the whole family is in one place? The grandparents, the cousins, the toddlers running wild, the babies being passed from arm to arm? It doesn’t happen as often as we’d like, and when it does, it usually goes by faster than we planned for. When it does, this is the perfect time to plan your multigenerational family photos in Coeur d’Alene.
A family once reached out to me before their vacation to lake Coeur d’Alene. They were a large group – spanning babies all the way to grandma, and they had a quiet, tender reason for wanting photos done. Their mom was getting older. They knew time was a gift, not a guarantee.
As a multigenerational family photographer in Coeur d’Alene, these are the sessions that stay with me the longest.
We worked around toddler naps. We waited out a little spring rain. There was no rushing, no countdown clock. Just a family – together – finally capturing what they already knew mattered.
That is what extended family photography is really about.

I hear it all the time. “There are too many of us.” “The kids won’t cooperate.” “Grandma can’t walk far.” “Everyone has different schedules.”
All of that is real, and none of it is a reason to skip the session.
This is exactly the kind of session where planning ahead makes everything feel easier. When I work with extended families as a multigenerational family photographer in Coeur d’Alene, I think through all of it – the range of ages, the mobility needs, the outfit coordination, the timing around naps and meals. My job is to carry as much of that mental load as possible so you can actually show up and be present.

Seriously. If the idea has crossed your mind – even once – that’s your answer. You don’t need a special occasion. You don’t need everyone to be at their best. You just need to say yes before another year slips by.
Yes, we’ll get everyone together. But here’s what I’ve seen over and over again: the images clients come back to most aren’t the posed lineup. They’re the candid ones. Grandma laughing with a grandbaby in her lap, the cousins running wild together, the quiet moment between a mom and her mother that nobody planned.
This is why the energy you bring matters more than the pose you’re standing in!

Approach this like part of the reunion. Part of the vacation. Not a task to grin through on a time clock. When families let go of the pressure to perform for the camera, everything shifts and the photos feel more like them, more fun, more real. That’s not an accident. That’s the whole goal.
We can take breaks. Things can run a little loose. Kids can be kids. I’m not rattled by any of it – this is exactly what I’m here for. The unpredictable moments are often the most precious ones in the final gallery.
Outfit coordination across ten adults, eight kids, and two grandparents? I’ve got it. Timing a session around nap schedules and golden hour? Already thinking about it. The more you let me handle the logistics, the more you get to simply enjoy being together. That’s the trade I want to make with you.

When loss comes, we reach for photos. That’s just the truth.
That family who traveled to Coeur d’Alene last summer, they weren’t just booking a session. They were creating something that will be held, framed, and passed down: photos of their babies with grandma, images that say we were here, together, and it was so good.
That’s a gift that doesn’t expire… that is the kind of investment that over time just increases with value!
There is no version of this where you look back and wish you hadn’t done it. But there is absolutely a version where you waited too long and wish you had.

If you have an extended family trip coming up, or if you’ve been quietly thinking “we really should get everyone together”…I’d love to help you make it happen.
If you’re in the early stages of planning your trip, you might find it helpful to browse things to do through Visit Coeur d’Alene, map out a few simple outings on AllTrails, or keep things easy with meals (I shared a few of my favorite kid-friendly spots here).
