After all, your tv is hanging there. Why shouldn’t your memories be there too?
Growing up, my grandma’s house was covered in photos and it gave little me such a sense of belonging. I was connected to the people living on her walls — I could see my nose, my smile, my eyes reflected in those images even though I may have never met the person in the photo. That is an amazing thing!
YOUR FAMILY SHOULD BE ON YOUR WALL
Instead of leaving your photos trapped on your phone, I’ll consider what will work best for your family. Maybe that’s a custom, heirloom-quality album, or maybe a collection of framed prints. I’ll walk you through choosing and ordering so you always have images that will become part of your legacy.
It depends on your preference, but most families love the Pacific Northwest and are happy to have a fun, adventurous session outdoors any time of year! I especially love photographing families during sunrise or golden hour, when the light is soft and flattering.
As a Spokane family photographer I've found that Winter sessions work best at sunrise or mid-morning. Studio family sessions are also wonderful for something unique and personal the best light is usually mid-morning.
This is entirely up to you and where your family feels most comfortable. Families with toddlers often prefer at-home sessions, where children feel safe and relaxed.
Extended family sessions photograph beautifully outdoors, and I have plenty of location options to choose from. Studio sessions work well for mid- to smaller-sized families, offering a controlled environment and clean, timeless portraits.
I have a guide to help coordinate family outfits, and I can be as hands-on or hands-off as you prefer. That includes everything from color guides to shopping links for your whole family, plus plenty of text communication to help you shop what you already have first. I’ll offer tips for colors, textures, and styles that photograph well together, while keeping comfort and practicality in mind — especially with little ones. My goal is for your family to feel confident and at ease, so the personalities shine through naturally.
CDA & Spokane family photography sessions usually last 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the number of people and ages of children. Editing takes 2–4 weeks, after which we’ll schedule a viewing party to enjoy your images together.
You’ll see mockups in your home and studio samples, and we’ll choose products that fit your family and your space — from wall art to albums and prints. No pressure, just guidance and expertise from over 17 years in photography and a decade of motherhood.
